BioGuard Algae Complete Dual Action Algicide 2 Liter
This weekly dual-action algaecide formula uniquely combines the benefits of both quat and copper-based algicides to provide broader-spectrum control for all types of algae.
Algae Complete is BioGuard's latest innovation for algae treatment and prevention. This unique product contains two algae-killing ingredients, along with additional benefits to make dealing with algae easier for you. The two algae-killing ingredients in this new product are copper and polyquat. Algae Complete contributes the same level of copper to the water as BioGuard Banish. With the addition of quat into the formula, however, the product now has two different mechanisms for killing algae. Copper disrupts enzymes within the algae cell while quats bury themselves in the cell wall. Having two modes of action to kill algae is beneficial, especially when dealing with troublesome resistant algae.
Additional benefits provided in this formula include a surface & waterline cleaner and a clarifier. The surface & waterline cleaner helps make it easier to remove surface clinging algae. Note that this will not replace the need of brushing,
but it should make the process easier. The clarifier will help remove dead algae to clear the water faster. An additional clarifier, such as BioGuard Polysheen, may be used in severe situations to expedite the cleaning process; the clarifier in this product will work in conjunction with other ancillary products for additional benefits.
Algae Complete was developed with the understanding that different algae types react differently to different technologies so a hybrid product could be more effective. We also wanted a product that could work in and with the various pool sizes and surface finishes. The result is this handy 72 oz. bottle contains enough product to give you a comprehensive, season-long prevention and it fits well with any sanitizer program (except biguanide due to copper-based ingredients). The easy-pour, easy-dose bottle also features an 4 oz. dosing cap to make application easier. If an algae outbreak does occur, there's no need to buy another product because Algae Complete can serve as a remedy treatment by using the stronger dose as noted on the label.
Dosage Instructions:
- For treatment: 16 ounces per 10,000 gallons
- For maintenance & prevention: 8 ounces per 10,000 gallons initially & 1.5 ounces per 10,000 gallons weekly
