Kamado Joe Classic II 18 inch Grill and Smoker
Kamado Joe Classic II 18" Grill & Smoker
A big advantage of a ceramic grill is versatility; the ability to grill, smoke and sear. Why, then, we ask, do other grill makers not give you what you need to
grill, smoke and sear? Instead, they require that you buy the necessary accessories. What are they thinking?! At Kamado Joe, we give you everything you
need to grill, smoke and sear. We think that only makes sense. Yes, a Kamado Joe comes with all that!
Divide & Conquer - Flexible Cooking System
The grill grate. It's been around for years. It hasn't really changed much. Hasn't really changed at all. It just sits there and gets dirty. What if we gave
it something to do besides just sitting there? What if we halved it and allowed it to function on different levels to create different heat zones? To create
more grilling space. What if we made it interchangeable with specialty cooking surfaces. What if we made it versatile and useful?
Slide-Out Ash Drawer
There is far less ash to deal with on a Kamado Joe relative to traditional briquette grills because lump charcoal burns cleaner.
That said, there is still some ash. To make dealing with this ash easier than ever we have included a handy slide-out ash drawer that will keep things clean and easy!
Multi-Level Flexibility & Multi-Surface Versatility
The clever and revolutionary Divide & Conquer Flexible Cooking System replaces the ordinary grill grate. The key is the “Half Rack Design,” the halving of all components
to allow for multi-level flexibility and multi-surface versatility. The two- piece cooking grid and multi-level rack give you three big advantages over the standard grill grate!
Get twice the cooking space...and more!
The Flexible Cooking System allows you to cook on two different levels at the same time, effectively doubling your cooking space! With the optional
Grill Expander (sold separately) you can even cook on three levels. This gives you 660 square inches of total cooking surface – more than any other
standard 18" grill!
Create different heat zones
The halved Kamado Joe Heat Deflector (included) allows you to create different heat zones within the grill at the same time. For example, on one
side, you install a half Heat Deflector on the lower level and a cooking grate on the upper level. Here you can cook veggies with indirect heat. At the same time,
on the other side, you install a half grate on the lower level to cook your meat.
Add custom cooking surfaces
The Divide & Conquer Flexible Cooking System also allows you to add custom halved cooking surfaces for even more cooking versatility!

Flat out the best ceramic grill on the planet! That may be a bold statement, but we invite you to look under the hood and see for yourself!
If you compare Kamado Joe Ceramic Grill with other ceramic grills on the market, you’ll soon recognize that Kamado Joe’s the best built grill on the
market and that fit and finish are second to none! But there’s a lot more to a Kamado Joe grill than meets the eye…
We may call Kamado Joe a grill, but it's really that and a whole lot more! A key advantage of Kamado Joe’s ceramic vessel is its ability to insulate.
Not only does this require less total heat for cooking, it also lets you cook at significantly higher temperatures or at very low temperatures for a
significantly longer time. Combine this with the ability to not only control, but fine-tune temperature, and you get a grill that is extremely versatile.
First and foremost, Kamado Joe is a grill. Its ceramic construction and unique shape, along with using lump charcoal, mean moister meats and wood-fire flavor.
With Kamado Joe’s ability to control temperature and thanks to the long-burning stamina of lump charcoal, you’ll be able to use your Kamado Joe as a smoker or a slow cooker (it will maintain low temps for up to 12 hours without adding lump charcoal).
Thanks to the insulative properties of Kamado Joe and the ability of lump charcoal to generate significant heat, you’ll be able to achieve temperatures up to 750° F. This means you can sear a steak. It will come off sizzling, just like it does at the high-end steak houses.
Many people believe that a pizza baked on a Kamado Joe is the best pizza they've ever had. The same goes for bread. Virtually anything you can bake in an oven you can bake in your Kamado Joe. Once you do, you may never go back.
Moister, Delectable Meats
Nobody likes a piece of meat that resembles a hockey puck. The key advantage of a Kamado Joe grill is its ability to insulate, which means less total
heat is required to cook. The shape also circulates heat for more uniform cooking. Compare this to gas grills that let heat escape and cook largely
from below. Gas grills require more total heat to achieve the same temperature profile as a Kamado Joe. This excessive heat robs moisture from
your meat. Kamado Joe keeps the heat in the grill and the moisture in the meat.
The amazing wood-fire flavor you get when grilling on a Kamado Joe grill comes from the lump charcoal that ceramic grills are designed to use. Lump
charcoal, unlike charcoal briquettes, is made from pieces of real wood, so it imparts a wonderful wood-fire flavor to your grilled food, a flavor you just won’t get from a gas grill!
